![]() WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center is pleased to host the second annual Senior Health Fair on September 22, 2023 from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the Senior Center Social Hall. The free event is being organized by the North Central Regional Falls Coalition, a team of community stakeholders committed to improving the safety and well-being of our population. All members of the public are invited to attend. According to the NCR Falls Coalition, falls are one of the leading causes of injury in our community. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that approximately one in four adults aged 65 and older fall each year and 37% of falls result in injury. With injury comes loss of independence and ability to engage in important daily activities. In Washington State, approximately 31% of older adults fall annually. An increasing number of these falls result in death. The intent of the Senior Health Fair is to provide free information and education to assist our community in falls prevention and living healthier, quality lives. Attendees will have access to a variety of local organizations that provide services to seniors. Vendors will offer free balance tests, blood pressure checks, home safety assessments, vision information, medical equipment demonstrations, medication assessments and more. The Senior Health Fair is sponsored by Health Alliance Northwest, Wenatchee Medical Group, Confluence Health, Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington and the North Central Emergency Care Council.
