 WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee World is teaming up with the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center to provide a training session to teach area residents how to use the online editions of the publication. The seminar will be held at the senior center at 1312 Maple Street, Wenatchee, on Tuesday, November 14 from 1 - 2:30 p.m. While the focus is on educating seniors, the class will be offered at no charge and will be open to the public.
 The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center has updated its hours of operation and announced their holiday schedule for 2023.
To avoid confusion, we have changed our hours of operation for both the senior center and our Second Chance Thrift Shop to Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Before the change, the senior center was open until 4:30 p.m. and the thrift shop was open until 4 p.m. There are some classes and events that run later than 4 p.m. - those activities will continue as normal. The thrift shop is also now open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The senior center is not currently open on Saturdays.  WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center is partnering with the NCW Tech Alliance to provide technology assistance to seniors through an in-person pop-up event on November 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The free pop-up event will give local seniors, as well as others in the community, an opportunity to talk with a Digital Navigator to help answer technology questions. Digital Navigators have been trained to recognize members of the community who may be at risk of losing access to community services as a result of not having internet access or tools or knowledge to access online services.  Our Gift Fair is back again this year, bigger and better than ever!
Over 100 booths with unique gifts, plus raffles. PLUS, the Gift Fair marks the kick-off of our Second Chance Thrift Shop Christmas Cottage, containing thousands of holiday items for sale. The Thrift Shop and Christmas Cottage are located at the rear entrance of the senior center. Don't miss this one-day event! (The Christmas Cottage will remain open throughout the holiday season.  Join us for a benefit concert on November 4 for The Random Acts of Kindness Club at Wenatchee High School and the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center, featuring the choral group GladSong.
 WENATCHEE - Action Health Partners will offer free Medicare counseling at the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center during the Medicare open enrollment period from October 15 - December 7, 2023.
