Our Gift Fair is back again this year, bigger and better than ever! Our annual event is being held this year on November 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center (1312 Maple Street) and Foothills Middle School. (1410 Maple Street). It's free to attend!
140 booths with unique gifts, plus raffles. PLUS, the Gift Fair marks the kick-off of our Second Chance Thrift Shop Christmas Cottage, containing thousands of holiday items for sale. The Thrift Shop and Christmas Cottage are located at the rear entrance of the senior center. New this year: Food truck vendors! We'll be hosting a number of local vendors to keep your tummies full while you shop. Don't miss this one-day event! (The Christmas Cottage will remain open throughout the holiday season.) Watch for updates and vendor information on the Facebook event page. This is our biggest fundraising event for the senior center. All proceeds are used to support senior center operations. ![]() WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center is pleased to host the second annual Senior Health Fair on September 22, 2023 from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the Senior Center Social Hall. The free event is being organized by the North Central Regional Falls Coalition, a team of community stakeholders committed to improving the safety and well-being of our population. All members of the public are invited to attend. According to the NCR Falls Coalition, falls are one of the leading causes of injury in our community. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that approximately one in four adults aged 65 and older fall each year and 37% of falls result in injury. With injury comes loss of independence and ability to engage in important daily activities. In Washington State, approximately 31% of older adults fall annually. An increasing number of these falls result in death. |
