NCW Libraries will now visit the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center twice per month as part of its regular schedule The bookmobile will make its first visit on August 24, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then begin a recurring schedule, visiting on the first and third Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We arranged this schedule so that the visits would intersect with our lunch schedule, when the greatest number of seniors are typically at the senior center. For convenience, the bookmobile will be parked in front of the main entrance, outside of the covered drive-thru area, so that members and guests can stop and check out the library before and after lunch. We have added the schedule to our online calendar and to our Facebook events.
All residents of Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Grant, and Okanogan counties are eligible for a free library card and can sign up and receive one from the bookmobile. In addition to its two bookmobiles, NCW Libraries operates 30 community branches over the five county service area, plus a mail-order library. Their extensive inventory includes books, DVDs, audiobooks and periodicals, plus online access to eBooks, streaming audiobooks and movies, newspapers and Rosetta Stone foreign language learning applications. The bookmobile carries 2,500 items for immediate checkout, and also offers services including free WiFi, a climate-controlled environment, and is ADA accessible with a wheelchair lift. |
