WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group in support of the capital improvement project to expand and renovate the Senior Center facility. The Wenatchee Valley Medical Group (WVMG) serves North Central Washington as the largest physician group affiliated with Confluence Health. The organization gives back to the communities they serve through community education, volunteerism and advocacy and monetary donations.
Dr. Jen Jorgensen, WVMG President, said their organization is proud to support WVSAC’s plans for expansion. “The Wenatchee Valley Medical Group believes true health means more than just the absence of illness — it’s about fostering connection, purpose, and joy at every stage of life,” said Jorgensen. “The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center nourishes the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our seniors every day, and we’re proud to support their vision for growth.” Dr. Lauren Weber, WVMG Vice Chair, applauds the wide array of programs the Senior Center provides, contributing to the whole health of the local 50+ community. “From nutritious lunches to line dancing and puzzles, [WVSAC] creates a welcoming space where our seniors thrive. As a group committed to whole-person care, we see the Center as a vital partner in promoting health, dignity, and community for older adults in the Valley,” Weber explained. Lisa Blair, WVSAC Executive Director, appreciates the contribution to the building fund. “The Senior Center is undertaking a significant project, and we are not able to do this alone. It is only through the generosity of the organizations who share our vision that we will be able to move forward with this endeavor. We are incredibly grateful to the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group for supporting us with this grant.” |
