February 20-28, 2025 Costa Rica – what a place! Sixteen of us just came back from an incredible experience in the beautiful country of Costa Rica We started out in San Jose the first night and then traveled to a coffee plantation in the central region the following morning. I am here to tell you that growing coffee is an art, and the Costa Ricans have that art down to a science. Mmm! Later that afternoon we ended up in Cano Negro at the Arenal Volcano. Our hotel was nestled in the mountainside close to the foot of the volcano. Talk about an incredible view from the rooms. We enjoyed a cruise on Lake Arenal, and we were treated to the amazing wildlife that included Camans (crocodiles), sloths, lots of monkeys, exotic birds and rare butterflies. We spent a day in the Monteverde Cloud Forest and took a breathtaking hike through one of Costa Rica’s largest and richest rain forests. We crossed nine hanging bridges up to one hundred feet high, viewing the forest from the top of the canopy. The flora and fauna were indescribable. We ended our trip in Guanacaste, complete with beautiful sandy beaches and temperatures in the 90s. It was hard to leave the beauty of this paradise. I encourage everyone to join us on a future trip for another exciting adventure.
